Amazeze is a short film created by Jordy and Gabrilella at Sanktuary Films. It is a project that was in the works for two years before being shot and finished in late 2024. It's a single take 15 minute short of a young Zimbabwean boy facing the horrors of xenophobia in a South African township when he ventures out to find water for his sick brother.
The film was shot by Rick Joaquim and directed by Jordy Sank.
Amazeze premiered at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in France in February 2025 which is a huge achievement for the project.
Grade and finishing done by Matt Tapson. The complex task of seamlessly stitching the few cuts together was done by Jaco Bosch.
